“I am a rock, I am an island” – Simon & Garfunkel, cited in a footnote by a federal appeals court in a maritime case involving a marijuana arrest in what may or may not have been Bahamas waters
“In the metaphysical sense, we can discern no reason why something could not be both a rock and an island at the same time,” the court wrote, but added, “Of course, neither Simon nor Garfunkel has been identified as a nautical expert.”
