Yeah, so what if this is two months late? Better late than never, right? This list comes after a year of obsessively searching the internet for great new bands. I tried to spotlight some of those magical albums that were inexplicably overlooked by most of the music community. However, I'm done ranking these albums. Unlike other years there's no clear winner here and every single one of these bands deserve to be at least checked out on MySpace. So what are you waiting for - start looking, reading and clicking!

The Snake the Cross the Crown
Cotton Teeth
an album packed with moving, emotional rock buildups with a hint of country

Welcome to the Night Sky
third great album from this amazing straightforward canadian rock band that no one knows about. nuff said

The Apples in Stereo
Magnetic Wonder
more of what they’ve already proved their good at - psychedelic power pop - but different enough to still be great

Au
Au
sounds like established neo-folkster Animal Collective and Adem, with a little bit of bold newness, or new boldness?

from the album: Boute

Efterklang
Parades
great sophomore effort in not falling into the repetitive trap - amazing experimental danes

myspace: myspace.com/efterklang

Hoots and Hellmouth
kickass roots and bluegrass from philly with lots of energy, emotion and beards

Yearbook 1

something close and comparable to the decent experimentations of the books, yet far from a blatant copy

swedish psychedelic rock at it’s finest, with lots of pop elements thrown in to surely satisfy

very neat electronica with several unexpectedly refreshing melodies filling the album

myspace: myspace.com/kimhiorthoy

fun and charming folky, experimental debut from oxford - this guy isn’t afraid to take chances and he definitely succeeds

consistently great casiotone indie pop, even moreso than suburban kids with biblical names

portland turntabalism that ends up sounding a lot like menomena, but sort of better than their 2007 release

Pepe Deluxe
Spare Time Machine
brilliant “psychedelic electronica” that’s truly ecclectic and surprisingly awesome in every way
